When Santa is loosed....

Today in my D&C class we were discussing section 29....in a nutshell it's about the signs of the times and what happens before and after the second coming. My Professor mentioned that Satan will be loosed after "the little season". I scribbled that down. And a few seconds later I realized that I accidently wrote:
"Santa will be loosed after the little season to tempt us."

I then spent the next twenty minutes trying not to pee my pants every time I looked at my notes. I'm glad I can at least crack myself up.

Dear Spring,

this weekend I had a taste of your deliciousness.
I now wish for:
-pink lemonade
-the smell of chlorinated water
-kites in the sky
-the sound of crickets after a long day
-my sundresses that have been patiently packed away
-hand stitching in the sun
-the birds that live outside my window
-seedlings in the garden
-easter egg hunts
-picnics in the park

Please, come quickly.

p.s. Tell Winter he's overstayed his welcome.

Huh?

A couple of weeks ago my ward had this announcement in the sacrament program:

"Choir Practice: 3:40-4:30 in the chapel, we are short people so please come!"

I'm still not sure if they meant A) they need some tall people or B) they are looking for more short people?

Langston

(he's such a speedy little guy, which makes it impossible to get a decent picture)

Last week was Iker's 22nd birthday. (If you don't know Iker go here
Naturally, it was my quest to find him an awesomely cool present.
I racked my brain until finally Voila! I had it.

"A goldfish in a vase."
"You're going to get him a goldfish for his 22nd birthday?" My mom didn't seem amused.
"I'm not going to get him a goldfish. I already did."
"Ok." My mom seemed apprehensive. Like she was questioning my sanity.

When Iker showed up to claim his fish in a vase, I had him close his eyes until he was directly in front of the fishy vase. When he opened his eyes I knew it was love at first sight. The little goldie swam back and forth and then directly to where Iker was.

"Look! He knows I'm his dad!"

After the adventure of a lifetime we got the little goldie safely to Iker's apartment. When I walked into my apartment later that night I was slightly sad to have the little bugger gone. I texted Iker to tell the fishy I missed him.

Iker and I have gone a little fish crazy. We used to sit and talk about movies and books. Now we talk about Langston. Our conversations go something like this:

"How's the fishy?"
"He's doing okay. Yesterday he seemed lethargic so I changed his water and put his bowl near the window."
"Hmm, if this continues you should put a pea in his water. I read somewhere that peas help goldies."

Now I'm questioning both of our sanity.

Je t'amie, little Langston.

Monica

(I'm her mom! No, she's not!)

This weekend I had  surprise visitors.
My sister Monica and her husband, Lukey.
I love my sister (and Lukey too! But this post is for Monica)
I love that she is my sanity when I have none.
I love that she makes me laugh when I mess up.
I love that people always ask if we're twins.
I love that no matter how alone I feel I know she's always there.
I love that she's been an example to me of getting through hard times.
I love that we have the same inside jokes we've had for years.
I love that we can sit in the target parking lot and share cupcakes.

Thanks for visiting, Monica and Lukey! I miss you already.

Happiness is...

Sabino)

Spending a carefree weekend at home.
Hearing Sofia say "Cheese!"
New finger nail polish.
Sewing the most lovely slipstitch
Getting presents for no reason at all (Thanks, ABMB!)
Blue skies and cozy sun.
Red hot blue corn chips.
Looking at pictures.
Learning how to navigate in a new city.
Letters in the mail.
Seeing an old friend.
Skirts and tights.
That person who never lets you forget you are loved.
Learning.
Dark chocolate.
Men in gray sweaters.
Tiffany Blue.
Waking up to sun beams and not an alarm clock.
Peonies.
That song that you can't help but believe was written for you.

I had a beautiful day. I hope yours was equally so.

p.s. Happy February! I can't believe it!
